Latest News: Investigation Into Matthew Perry's Death Leads To Arrests
Five people have been charged in connection with the death of Matthew Perry, who accidentally overdosed on ketamine on October 28, 2023.
Authorities announced August 15 they are his personal assistant, two doctors, and a narcotics distributor. According to court documents, Perry’s assistant Kenneth Iwamasa worked with the others arrestees to obtain the ketamine that lead to his death.
The indictment also claims Iwamasa injected Perry with the anesthetic on the day he died.
Prior to his death, the 54-year-old Friends star was reportedly receiving ketamine infusions to treat depression and anxiety.
However, when the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner announced Perry’s cause of death from the “acute effects of ketamine,” the office noted the ketamine found in his system wasn’t related to his infusion therapy.
