Esta de Fossard, January 16, 1934 – December 18, 2020 Esta de Fossard-Nelson, multi-talented communications specialist, and pioneer in entertainment education, died of heart failure on December 18, 2020.

She was retired in Northern Virginia with her husband of 33 years, Ambassador Harvey F. Nelson. Esta was born in Melbourne, Australia and raised with her sister on a small suburban farm. Her father was an engineer and her mother a children’s radio program script writer.

She happily took to life with horses and time to read but was also drawn to radio and its power to impact people’s lives.
