Viggo Peter Mortensen Jr.
was born in New York City in October 1958 to a multinational family. His mother, Grace Atkinson, was English, while his father, Viggo Mortensen, was Danish. Viggo's childhood was marked by frequent moves, as his parents initially settled in South America, then Denmark, and finally Argentina.
Due to his upbringing, Viggo became fluent in multiple languages, including English, Danish, Spanish, French, Swedish, and Norwegian.
