Rockland corrections officer Frank Farina remembered as good father, neighbor
STONY POINT - Bill Monahan knew something bad had happened as soon as he saw the state trooper on his quiet, well-kept, residential street.
Monahan, a retired New York City police lieutenant, lives next door to the Farina family.
Frank Farina, 42, died Tuesday after suffering a gunshot wound to the head while driving with his wife in Orange County, police said.
He was a Rockland County corrections officer. His wife, Jennifer, 42, was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
An autopsy was scheduled Wednesday and the investigation is ongoing, according to state police.
